Ashover Cricket Club Est 1874

Welcome to Ashover Cricket Club

CONGRATULATIONS to RYAN ILLINGWORTH
for his Maiden Century of 101 not out
against Grassmoor on Sunday - Well Batted Bezzy!!
(Honest Mrs Illingworth he did get a ton!)

Congratulations to the Mid-week X1 and the Under 30's
for making it to the Final of the inter-Club
T20 tournament. The Mid-weekers were victorious
over the U15's and the Under 30's again came out
on Top against the over 30's. Both games were very
well supported by Club Members and the Final on the
17th July will hopefully be another good game.

Congratulations to Wayne Carline and Russ Cooke who
both made 50's for their respective teams, but
MAN of TOURNAMENT so far has to be Peter Illingworth
who bagged 4 Under 30's Wickets and then scored a
sparkling 20* including 1 massive six into the
tennis courts. (I wonder if he's stopped telling
Liam & Ryan about it yet?)

Many thanks to all those that took part and all those
Members and Friends that came to Support the Club

Ashover are a long established village cricket club, playing in a beautiful part of Derbyshire on a picturesque ground and with modern well appointed facilities. The pavilion features spacious changing rooms complete with showers and a welcoming bar area with drinks at reasonable prices. We are now one of only a few Cricket Club's in Derbyshire to have attained CLUBMARK status.

With the help of Ashover Parish Council we have recently purchased an Artificial Cricket strip. This strip will be used on the Club's official practice nights and by the Juniors and Mid-week friendly sides.

We run Four league teams, two play on Saturdays in Divisions 4N and 6N of the Derbyshire County Cricket League, and the other two play in the Mansfield & District Cricket League Divisions 1 and 6 on Sundays. Coupled with this, we also play some friendly games in midweek under the banner of Ashover Casuals.

Thanks to Dave Cooke our youth team manager, Ashover has a thriving junior section, turning out teams at under 12, under 13 and under 15 levels, plus we run a Kwik cricket evening every Friday from early May until late July. Many of our current players have graduated through these ranks to supplement the old timers amongst us, but the door is always open to new players of any age or ability, we will ensure that you get to play cricket. If you would like to know more, please contact any of the officials.
